Minor Rider Waiver
Riders under 16 are welcome on Twizted Liftz, but only with a parent or legal guardian standing behind them. This waiver sets out who has to sign it, what they're accepting, and how the guardian's identity is verified. It applies to any booking where the rider is under 16, and it sits alongside the Damage Policy rather than replacing it.
1. Who needs this waiver
Any rider under 16 must have this waiver completed by a parent or legal guardian before the booking can be paid for or the ride handed over.
The rider's date of birth is recorded when a booking is made. If the rider is under 16, the booking will not go through without a signed waiver and a verified guardian ID on file.
2. Who signs it
The waiver must be signed by the rider's parent or legal guardian — not by the rider, and not by an older friend, sibling, or coach.
- —The signer must be the rider's parent or legal guardian, and must give their full legal name.
- —The signer must upload their own government-issued photo ID for verification.
- —The signer must give an email address and phone number they can actually be reached on during the booking.
- —A waiver signed by anyone other than a parent or legal guardian is not valid, and the ride will not be released.
3. Guardian ID verification
- —Accepted ID: a driver's license, state ID, or passport.
- —The ID must show the guardian's photo, name, and a valid expiry date.
- —Twizted Liftz reviews the ID before the booking is confirmed. An unreadable, expired, or mismatched ID will hold the booking up.
- —Guardian IDs are stored privately and are never shown publicly or shared with other users.
4. What the guardian accepts
By signing, the guardian accepts responsibility for the under-16 rider for the whole booking, and for the ride itself while it is in that rider's hands.
- —The guardian will supervise the rider and make sure the ride is used only as the owner and Twizted Liftz allow.
- —The Damage Policy applies in full to the booking, and the guardian accepts responsibility for damage, loss, theft, and late return caused by the under-16 rider.
- —Only the rider named on the booking may operate the ride. Letting anyone else use it is a breach of this waiver.
- —The guardian confirms the rider is physically able to operate the ride safely and understands its controls.
- —The guardian confirms they have given the rider permission to take part in the booking.
5. Riding rules for under-16 riders
- —A rider aged 14 or 15 may only book an E-Bike or a Scooter. Mopeds are not available to them.
- —A properly fitted helmet must be worn at all times while riding.
- —No passengers, and no riding with anyone else on the ride unless the owner has agreed in writing.
- —No riding after dark, and no riding in traffic or on roads where local law does not allow it.
- —The rider must stay within the area agreed with the owner and return the ride by the return time.
- —The rider must follow the owner's instructions at handoff and at return.
6. If the waiver is missing
- —The booking cannot be paid for, and the ride cannot be handed over.
- —An owner may refuse handoff if a signed waiver and verified guardian ID are not on file.
- —Twizted Liftz may cancel a booking that goes ahead without a valid waiver.
- —A ride released without a valid waiver is a breach of this policy, and the guardian remains responsible for anything that follows.
7. Changes and questions
- —Twizted Liftz may update this waiver. The version in effect on the day a booking is made applies to that booking.
- —Questions can be sent to Twizted Liftz through the support contact on your account page.
